George Brett was one of the best baseball players I have ever seen play. He could hit for average and flirted with .400, he could hit for power, he could field and throw. Brett played his entire Hall of Fame career wth the Kansas City Royals and was a member of one World Series championship team in 1985. He was a 13 time all-star, had 3 batting titles, 1 Gold Glove and 3 Silver Slugger awards and was the 1980 American League MVP.
This photo was shot from my seat at a rainy, dreary Fenway Park on September 4, 1993 just one month before Brett retired. The Red Sox catcher is Tony Pena.
