Flash Flood

If you live here you know New England especially in the summertime can get some incredibly intense rain during the spring, summer and early fall. Many times these heavy rains and thunderstorms produce some dangerous flash flooding.

These photos were shot on April 2, 2005 during some mild early spring temperatures and with the ground still frozen from the winter the rain had no where to go but up

This is from the boat launch in Enfield on River St in the Thompsonville section. That is usually the boat ramp leading to the Connecticut River.

This is also from the same day in East Windsor in a low lying area along the Scantic River a house on Mahoney Road overlooks the rising river. The heavy rains over the weekend led to the flooding of rivers, brooks and streams in the area.
