Colt Dome

This is the onion shaped dome of the Historic Colt Fire Arms Building in Hartford.  Originally a factory built in 1847 to produce firearms it is now under renovation for commercial, retail and living space.  It was originally scheduled to be finished in late 2006 or early 2007 it is a bit behind schedule as plenty of space still exists.

The distinctive blue dome was added to the building in 1855.

I am a collector of Colt firearms I always wondered what they were doing with the old building. Being from the mid west I’ve never been there, only seen photos. Glad to see they are trying to use the old building.
