Dustin Pedroia, Dirt Dawg

He was a dirt dawg from way back andhe continues to be and don’t think that a new 6 year contract worth $40.5 million is gonna change him.  Dustin Pedroia has risen from a second round draft pick in 2004 out of Arizona State to 2007 AL Rookie of the Year, 2008 AL Gold Glove second baseman, 2008 AL Silver Slugger for Second Base and 2008 AL Most Valuable Player.

Kids play ball the way he does and you’ll go far.  These photos are from May 2005 when Pedroia was playing in Double A with the Portland Sea Dogs and turning double plays with Hanley Ramirez, who was the 2006 NL Rookie of the Year with the Florida Marlins.
