To our WWII vets thanks, today is Pearl Harbor Day.

I thought with today also being the anniversary of Gordie Howe scoring his 1000th career goal (December 7, 1977 at Birmingham vs. the Bulls) and the fact that a lot of us are missing hockey that this might be an approprate way to head into the weekend.

I know I have some hockey lovers amongst the viewers and when I shoot a hockey game I love to watch the goalie as there tends to be lots of action in and around the net.

With that in mind  here are a bunch of goalie shots.

The Watertown goalie watches a shot beat him between his body and his stick for a goal in the Bantam tournament at Olympia Ice Center in West Springfield MA on March 19, 2005.

A goalie awaits the puck as he gets pressure in the crease from an opposing forward during the Thanksgiving Tournament in Cromwell CT on November 26, 2004.

An Indians forward tries the stuff attempt on the Cyclones goaltender.  The goalie won as the Indians did not score on the play during the Thanksgiving Tournament in Cromwell CT on November 26, 2004.

The Indians goalie makes a stickless save and watches as the rebound slides out toward the slot during the Thanksgiving Tournament in Cromwell CT on November 26, 2004.

Bemidji State goalie Matt Climie (33) makes a stick save in traffic in the second period as Denver’s Jeff Drummond moves in.  Denver nipped the Beavers 4-3 in overtime in the Northeast regional semi final at the Mullins Center in Amherst MA on March 26, 2005.

Mercyhurst goalie Mike Ella (35) makes one of his 52 saves as he stops Boston College’s Ryan Murphy (19) as Mercyhurst defenseman Jamie Coghlan (5) moves in to help out in the NCAA Ice Hockey East Regional on March 26, 2005 at the DCU Center in Worcester MA.
