At one time the drive-in movie theatre was a staple of American culture. It was a place for taking dates, bringing the family or meeting friends and hanging out. Sadly over the years the drive-in theatre has, for the most part, gone the way of the dinosaur. A once thriving era with salty popcorn and poor quality movie speakers have left us as very few of the drive-in’s still survive.
This abandonded drive-in is on Route 12 in Dayville CT. The odd thing about this one is the screen is actually facing the street so passersby or locals in the neighborhood could most likely see the movies.
