Rick Helling

New Britain Rock Cats pitcher Rick Helling delivers a pitch against the Portland Sea Dogs on May 21, 2004.  Helling was  with the Twins Double A team on a rehab assignment.  He didn’t complete the assignment and didn’t pitch in the majors in 2004.

Helling pitched 12 years in the majors from 1994 to 2006 with five teams Texas, Florida, Milwaukee, Arizona and Baltimore plus his attempt to make the Twins.

He was 98-81 with a 4.68 ERA and a WHIP of 1.37 for his career.  His best season was 1998 when he won 20 games with the Rangers going 20-7 with a 4.41 ERA and a 1.32 WHIP.
